Nuclear structure insights into reactor antineutrino spectra

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 235U, 239,241Pu(n, F), E=thermal; 238Pu(n, F), E=fast; calculated electron spectra for fission fragments and compared with high-resolution experimental data, antineutrino spectra; identified 20 dominant fission fragment contributors to antineutrino spectra for each fissioning system using fission yields from JEFF-3.1 library, decay data from ENDF/B-VII.1 library, available TAGS data, direct β-spectra and antineutrino spectra. 92Rb, 96Y; compared measured β spectra with present calculations, identified as the strongest contributors to antineutrino spectra from fission of 235U and 238U. Deduced linear dependence of logarithm of the cross section averaged antineutrino spectra with (3Z-A) for 232Th to 245Cm fissioning systems.
