Discussed differences and the similarities between the models and parameters used in calculations of photon- and neutron-induced reactions on the same nuclei, with focus on fission process.

Comparison with Neutron Standards least-squares fit of available experimental data from EXFOR database. Extension of the optical model for fission. Relevance to CIELO and CHANDA international collaborative projects for evaluated reaction libraries.
