Investigation of the alignment mechanism and loss of collectivity in 135Pm

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 107Ag(32S, 2n2p)135Pm, E=145 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO), γγ(linear polarization), half-lives of levels in the yrast band by Doppler-shift attenuation method (DSAM) using INGA array of 18 Compton-suppressed HPGe clover detectors at TIFR-Mumbai. 135Pm; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, multipolarities, rotational bands, alignments, configurations, B(E2), dynamic moment of inertia, loss of collectivity for the yrast band at higher spin. Comparison with triaxial projected shell model (TPSM) calculations.

New lifetime measurement for the 2+1 level in 112Sn by the Doppler-shift attenuation method

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 112Sn(35Cl, 35Cl'), E=195 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, half-lives of the first 2+ and 3- states from Doppler broadening using INGA array at BARC-TIFR Pelletron LINAC Facility. 112Sn; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2), B(E1); calculated potential energy surface in (Q2, Q4) plane using Q-constrained Hartree-Fock method. Comparison with previous measurements, and with generalized seniority model (GSM) and state-of-the-art Monte Carlo shell model (MCSM) calculations. Systematics of B(E2) for the first 2+ states in A=112-124 Sn nuclei.

Neutron background measurements with a hybrid neutron detector at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory

RADIOACTIVITY 212Bi(β-)[from 232Th decay in the background]; 212,218Po, 222Rn(α)[from 232Th and 238U in the background]; measured βα-coin and αα-coin events. 232Th, 238U; estimated contributions from their decays in the background spectra for neutrino measurements. 68Ga, 68,71Ge(EC)[from thermal neutron capture in 70Ge]; measured Eγ and Iγ; deduced contribution to background spectra of neutrino measurements. In situ measurements of neutron-induced background at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory (KSNL) using a Hybrid Neutron Detector (HND), with and without cosmic ray and anti-Compton veto detectors, and under identical active and passive shielding configurations for the neutrino measurements.
