E2 decay characteristics of the M1 scissors mode of 152Sm

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 152Sm(polarized γ, γ'), E=3 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(polarization azimuthal asymmetry) by nuclear resonance fluorescence (NRF) method using four HPGe detectors at the HIγS facility at TUNL. 152Sm; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E1), γ-branching ratios to the ground state and the first 2+ state, E2/M1 multipole mixing ratios, B(E2), summed scissors mode B(M1). Comparison with predictions of interacting boson model-2 (IBM-2); predicted energy and transition strength of the 2+ mixed-symmetry state.

Microscopic structure of the one-phonon 2+ states of 208Po

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 204Pb(12C, 8Be)208Po, E=62 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, half-lives of the first 2+ and 4+ levels by recoil-distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method using the Cologne plunger device at the FN Tandem facility of the University of Cologne. 208Po; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2). Comparison with large-scale shell-model calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 208Po; calculated levels, J, π, B(E2), B(M1), magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments using large-scale shell-model calculations with an effective interaction derived from the realistic CD-Bonn nucleon-nucleon potential. Comparison with experimental data.
