Comparison to large-scale shell model calculations using the code NuShellX@MSU with a jj55 model space and the sn100 and GCN50:82 interactions. Kumar-Cline sum rules used to evaluate rotational invariants. Comparison to previous experimental data.

First measurement of the asymmetry and the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn integrand from the 3He((pol)(γ(pol), p)2H reaction at an incident photon energy of 29 MeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 3He(polarized γ, p)2H, E=29 MeV; measured Ep, Ip, p(θ), time-of-flight, spin-dependent asymmetry and total σ using a circularly polarized, monoenergetic γ-ray beam and a longitudinally polarized 3He target, and an array of depleted silicon surface barrier detectors at the High Intensity γ-ray Source (HIγS) facility at TUNL; deduced contribution from the two-body photo-disintegration to the 3He Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn (GDH) integrands, and compared with the state-of-the art three-nucleon system calculations.

Polarization asymmetries in the 9Be (γ, n0)reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(polarized γ, n), E=5.5-15.5 MeV from High Intensity γ-ray Source (HIγS) at Duke University and TUNL; measure neutron spectra, time-of-flight spectrum, neutron yields parallel and perpendicular to the plane of beam polarization, polarization asymmetries using nearly 100% linearly polarized and monoenergetic γ-ray beam. Comparison with direct capture calculations using only E1 contributions. Relevance to new method of assaying special nuclear materials (SNM).

Discussed differences in polarization asymmetries between the even-even actinides and odd-A actinides.
