Comparison to realistic shell-model calculations performed with KSHELL code. LOHENGRIN spectrometer together with 2 HPGe and 5 LaBr3(Ce) detectors (ILL).

RADIOACTIVITY 206Po(IT)[from successive EC decay of 206Rn(EC)-206At(EC) produced in 194Pt(16O, 4n)206Rn, E=84 MeV]; measured X-rays, Eγ, Iγ, (X-rays)γ-coin, γγγ-coin. 206Po; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2 of the 4+ and 6+ excited states, B(E2). Lifetimes extracted via the generalized centroid difference (GCD) method. Systematics of the B(E2) for even-even Po isotopes with N<126. HORUS spectrometer consisting of 8 coaxial HPGe and 11 LaBr detectors at the FN-Tandem facility (Institute for Nuclear Physics, University of Cologne).

Lifetime measurements in the tungsten isotopes 176, 178, 180W

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 164Dy(16O, 4n)176W, E=80 MeV; 172Yb(9Be, 3n)178W, E=40 MeV; 181Ta(p, 2n)180W, E=16 MeV; measured E(ce), Eγ, (ce)γ-coin, (ce)γγ-coin, γγ-coin, level T1/2 by (ce)γ(t) fast-timing method, and by recoil-distance Doppler-shift method using Cologne iron-free Orange spectrometer for conversion electrons, Cologne HORUS spectrometer for γ radiation, and Cologne coincidence plunger setup at the 10 MV FN Tandem accelerator of IKP-Cologne. 176,178,180W; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2, B(E2) of yrast positive-parity states up to 10+ for 176W and up to 8+ for 178,180W. Comparison with previous available experimental results, and with IBM-1 model calculations. Experimental and theoretical (by IBM-1 model with SU(3) and X(5) limits) systematics of excitation energies, deformation parameter β, quadrupole moment, B(E2), E(first 4+)/E(first 2+), B(E2)(first 4+)/B(E2)(first 2+) for 168,170,172,174,176,178,180,182,184,186W.

Lifetimes and transition probabilities for low-lying yrast levels in 130, 132Te

RADIOACTIVITY 130,132Sb(β-); 130m,132mTe(IT) [from 233U(n, γ), E=thermal, followed by mass-separation of fission fragments by the Lohengrin separator at Institut Laue-Langevin, Grenoble]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, isomer and level T1/2 by γ(t) and γγ(t) fast-timing method using four LaBr3(Ce) detectors and two Clover HPGe detectors, and analyzed using generalized centroid difference (GCD) method, and by slope method. 130,132Te; deduced levels, T1/2 of levels and isomers, B(E2) for yrast members of the g.s. bands up to 10+, configurations. Comparison with large-basis shell model calculations, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of B(E2) values for g.s. band members up to 10+ for 126,128,130,132,134Te.

Evolution of the isoscalar giant monopole resonance in the Ca isotope chain

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Ca, 42,44,48Ca(α, α'), E=196 MeV; measured Eα, Iα; deduced σ(θ), isoscalar giant monopole resonance strength distribution in the 9.5-25.5 MeV range, nucleus incompressibility KA. Analysis with difference-of-spectra (DoS) technique using measurements at 2 different angular covege settings of the spectrometer. Comparison to previous experimental results. K600 magnetic spectrometer at iThemba LABS.

Comparison with shell model calculations, and previous experimental values.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 209Bi, 210Po, 211At; calculated B(E2), magnetic dipole moments, B(M1) using two shell-model calculations: semiempirical interaction for three particles in a single j=9/2 shell, and the modified Kuo-Herling interaction in a multi-j model space. Comparison with experimental values.
