"Demokritos". Comparison with theoretical calculations using TALYS-1.95 code for the present and previous measurements for E(n)=10-20 MeV.

Determination of the 193Ir(n, 2n) reaction cross section and correction methodology for the 191Ir(n, γ) contamination

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 193Ir(n, 2n)192Ir, E=10.0-11.3, 15.3-20.9 MeV; measured activation Eγ, Iγ relative to 27Al(n, α) and 197Au(n, 2n), considered corrections for contributions of 191Ir(n, γ) and unstability of 192Ir, which decays by EC to 192Os and via β--decay to 192Pt (only 192Pt γ-rays considered here); deduced γ-ray energy spectrum with three most intensive γ-ray transitions, namely 316.5, 468.1 and 308, 5b keV, experimental weighted average σ for all energies, σ vs E deduced from individual γ-ray lines; compared with previously existing data and ENDF/B-VII.1; calculated σ using EMPIRE 3.2.2 and TALYS 1.8.

Comparison with previous experimental results, and with theoretical calculations using EMPIRE 3.2.2 and TALYS 1.8 nuclear model codes. 197Au(n, 2n)196Au/196mAu, 197Au(n, 3n)195Au, 197Au(n, α)194Ir, 197Au(n, p)197Pt/197mPt, 197Au(n, n), 197Au(n, X), E<35 MeV; compiled σ(E) data from various references and present work; deduced optical model potential parameters.

RADIOACTIVITY 196Au(EC), (β+), (β-)[from 197Au(n, 2n); 196mAu(IT)[from 197Au(n, 2n)]; measured Eγ, Iγ, reported modified Iγ values for the decay of 9.6-h isomer of 196Au from a private communication (reference 14 in this work).
