Precision measurement of the E2 transition strength to the 2+1 state of 12C

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(e, e'), E=42.5 MeV; measured scattered E(e), I(e) using the LINTOTT spectrometer at the Darmstadt S-DALINAC facility; deduced form factor, B(E2) and quadrupole moment for the first 2+ state in 12C. Comparison in-medium no-core shell model (IM-NCSM) calculations with NLO to N3LO interactions, and with previous experimental results.

Search for weak M1 transitions in 48Ca with inelastic proton scattering

Multipole decomposition analysis (MDA) of experimental data. 48Ca; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), quenching factors of GT and spin-M1 strength in fp-shell nuclei, negligible role of meson-exchange currents. Comparison with previous experimental (e, e'), and evaluated data.

Electromagnetic M1 transition strengths from inelastic proton scattering: The cases of 48Ca and 208Pb

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 48Ca(p, p'), E=295 MeV; analyzed σ(θ) for dominating peak at 10.23 MeV ascribed to isovector spin-flip M1 (IVSM1) resonance; deduced B(M1) using a method based on isospin symmetry. Comparison with B(M1) deduced from (p, p') at 201 MeV, (p, n) at 295 MeV, (e, e') and (γ, n) data. 208Pb(p, p'), (n, n'γ), (polarized γ, γ'); analyzed B(M1) strengths in 6.5-9 MeV excitation region. Quenching phenomenon of the spin-isospin response. Method for extracting systematic information on the IVSM1 resonances in heavy nuclei.
