Mass, Spectroscopy, and Two-Neutron Decay of 16Be

RADIOACTIVITY 16Be(2n) [from 1H(17B, 2p), E=277 MeV/nucleon]; measured decay products, En, In; deduced resonance energies, J, π, Q-value. Comparison with calculations incorporating the evolution of the wave function during the decay as a genuine three-body process reproduced the principal characteristics of the neutron-neutron energy spectra for both levels, indicating that the ground state exhibits a strong spatially compact dineutron component. The 15 cm thick liquid hydrogen target of MINOS, the BigRIPS fragment separator, the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory of the RIKEN Nishina Center.

Complete set of deuteron analyzing powers from d(pol)p elastic scattering at 190 MeV/nucleon

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(polarized d, d), E=186.6 MeV; measured deuteron spectra, deuteron vector and tensor analyzing powers iT11, T20, T21 and T22 as function of angle using BigDpol system at RIBF-RIKEN; analyzed with the previously measured data at E=70, 135 and 190 MeV. All data from 70-294 MeV compared with three-nucleon Faddeev calculations using nucleon-nucleon (NN) potentials alone or combined with three-nucleon force (3NF) models such as the Tucson-Melbourne 99 or Urbana IX, and to locally regularized chiral NN potentials.
