NUCLEAR REACTIONS 2H(γ, nη), (γ, pη), E=bremsstrahlung photons from 1500-MeV electron beam; analyzed data on the helicity dependence of the reaction with a spectator proton taken by the A2 Collaboration at MAMI in Mainz; discussed the existence of a narrow resonance of Jπ=1/2+ at 1685 keV; deduced that no such resonance is needed to obtain an excellent description and fit of the data fit.
