Measurement of mass-angle and mass-total kinetic energy distributions from the fission of 190Pt compound nucleus

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 178Hf(12C, X)190Pt, E=60-88.2 MeV; measured reaction products, fission fragments; deduced excitation energies, excitation energy at saddle point, measured mean mass-total kinetic energy (TKE), dependence of mean mass ratio as a function of mean center of mass emission angle, mass-energy correlations, TKE distributions are well described with the single Gaussian fits. The General Purpose Scattering Chamber facility at Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi.

Neutron multiplicity measurement and investigation of nuclear dissipation and shell effects in 30Si + 182, 184, 186W reactions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 182W(30Si, X)212Ra, 184W(30Si, X)214Ra, 186W(30Si, X)216Ra, E=138.8-191.9 MeV; measured reaction products, fission fragments, neutron time-of-flight, En, In, angular distribution, (fragment)n-coin; deduced neutron multiplicity spectra, prescission (from compound nucleus) and postscission (from fission fragments) contributions to neutron multiplicity, neutron angular distribution. Comparison to statistical model calculations performed with code VECSTAT incorporating dynamical hindrance in nuclear fission due to dissipation, shell corrections in the fission barrier and level density, and collective enhancement of level density (CELD). National Array of Neutron Detectors (NAND) consisting of 50 organic liquid scintillator detectors (BC 501A) coupled to the pair of position-sensitive multiwire proportional counters (MWPCs) at 15 UD Pelletron+Superconducting Linear Accelerator facility of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC, New Delhi).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 181Ta(35Cl, X), (37Cl, X), E=169.7-236.6 MeV; measured evaporation residues (ERs) using HYbrid Recoil mass Analyzer (HYRA) and position sensitive multiwire proportional counter (MWPC) at the 15-UD Pelletron and superconducting linear accelerator (sc-LINAC) facility of IUAC-New Delhi; deduced σ(E), partial capture, fusion, fast fission and quasifission and total ER cross sections; calculated potential energy surface (PES) of populating 216Th compound nucleus as a function of the distance between the interacting nuclei and charge numbers (Z) of the fragments. Comparison with dinuclear system (DNS) model and statistical model calculations.

Comparison with statistical model calculations.
