Neutron multiplicity measurement and investigation of nuclear dissipation and shell effects in 30Si + 182, 184, 186W reactions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 182W(30Si, X)212Ra, 184W(30Si, X)214Ra, 186W(30Si, X)216Ra, E=138.8-191.9 MeV; measured reaction products, fission fragments, neutron time-of-flight, En, In, angular distribution, (fragment)n-coin; deduced neutron multiplicity spectra, prescission (from compound nucleus) and postscission (from fission fragments) contributions to neutron multiplicity, neutron angular distribution. Comparison to statistical model calculations performed with code VECSTAT incorporating dynamical hindrance in nuclear fission due to dissipation, shell corrections in the fission barrier and level density, and collective enhancement of level density (CELD). National Array of Neutron Detectors (NAND) consisting of 50 organic liquid scintillator detectors (BC 501A) coupled to the pair of position-sensitive multiwire proportional counters (MWPCs) at 15 UD Pelletron+Superconducting Linear Accelerator facility of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC, New Delhi).

Analysis of mass-separated evaporation residues formed in 32S + 70, 68Zn fusion reactions: The special case of 97, 95Ru

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 68Zn(32S, X), E=130-150 MeV; 70Zn(32S, X), E=115-135 MeV; measured produced evaporation residues (ERs) transported to the focal plane of HIRA detector array and a multiwire proportional counter (MWPC), Eγ, Iγ from the radioactive ERs at the 15 UD Pelletron facility of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi; 95mTc, 97,97m,98Rh, 97m,98Ru; measured γ-ray spectra from the decays of the produced ERs; deduced two-dimensional ΔE vs X-position matrices of different mass product, yields of evaporation residues and compared with theoretical yields using semimicroscopic Monte Carlo code TERS. 95,97Ru; deduced maximum production yields.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 203,205Tl(16O, X), E=82-113 MeV; measured reaction products, time of flight, σ(E) of evaporation residues (ERs), and individual exit channel σ(E) using gas-filled HYbrid Recoil Analyzer (HYRA) for separation of ERs, two silicon detectors and a multiwire proportional counter (MWPC) to detect the ERs at the 15 UD Pelletron accelerator facility of IUAC, New Delhi; simulated ER angular distributions using the code PACE4. 209Bi(12C, X), E(cm)=50-115 MeV; 208Pb(12C, X), (16O, X), (19F, X); 203,205Tl(16O, X), E=82-113 MeV; 204Pb(16O, X); 209Bi(12C, X); comparison of the present and previously measured reduced σ(E) with statistical model calculations using HIVAP code.
