Fission time scale from pre-scission neutron and α multiplicities in the 16O + 194Pt reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 194Pt(16O, X)210Rn*, E=98.4 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, fission fragments, (fragments)α-coin, angular distributions using multiwire proportional counters (MWPC) for detection of fission fragments, and an array of CsI detectors for α particles at 15UD Pelletron facility of IUAC-New Delhi; deduced particle identification plot, fission fragments mass ratio distribution, normalized α-particle multiplicity spectra, dissipation energy and dinucleus elongation as function of time and angular momentum, transient times and saddle to scission times. Comparison with statistical model calculations using JOANNE2 code.
