C 106, L012802 (2022) M.Veselsky, V.Petousis, Ch.C.Moustakidis, G.A.Souliotis, A.Bonasera Investigating the possible existence of hyper-heavy nuclei in a neutron-star environment NUCLEAR REACTIONS 460U(140Ni, X), E=0.01, 1.25, 1.5 MeV/nucleon; calculated evolution of nucleonic density for central collision, time-evolution of the fussioning system in a neutron star environment. Constrained molecular dynamics (CoMD) simulations based on a two-body effective interaction with Skyrme potential. Observed new type of fusion barrier in neutron star environment (screening of Coulomb interaction) due to a “neutron wind”. Synthesis of extremely heavy and n-rich nuclei down to temperatures 108 K via fusion appears feasible with introduction of the nucleonic background of surrounding nuclei.
