Investigating the possible existence of hyper-heavy nuclei in a neutron-star environment

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 460U(140Ni, X), E=0.01, 1.25, 1.5 MeV/nucleon; calculated evolution of nucleonic density for central collision, time-evolution of the fussioning system in a neutron star environment. Constrained molecular dynamics (CoMD) simulations based on a two-body effective interaction with Skyrme potential. Observed new type of fusion barrier in neutron star environment (screening of Coulomb interaction) due to a “neutron wind”. Synthesis of extremely heavy and n-rich nuclei down to temperatures 108 K via fusion appears feasible with introduction of the nucleonic background of surrounding nuclei.

Anomaly in the decay of 8Be and 4He-can observed light boson mediate low-energy nucleon-nucleon interactions?

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 4He, 8Be; analyzed available data; deduced hypothesis that the anomaly in the folding angle distribution of electron-positron pairs, emitted in the decay of the excited level of nucleus 8Be at 18.15 MeV, can be related to the cluster structure of the decaying state.
