Observation of vector and tensor light shifts in ⁸⁷Rb using near-resonant, stimulated Raman spectroscopy

ATOMIC PHYSICS ⁸⁷Rb; measured relative frequency; deduced the differential vector and tensor light shifts, Raman spectra, implications for higher fidelities for applications of neutral atoms in quantum information and precision measurements.

Unbound excited states of the N=16 closed shell nucleus ²⁴O

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹Be(²⁶F, ²⁴O), E=76 MeV/nucleon, [secondary ²⁶F beam from ⁹Be(⁴⁸Ca, X), E=140 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured charged-particle spectra, E(n), I(n), (²³O)n-coin using MONA-LISA array at NSCL-MSU. ²⁴O; deduced decay energy spectrum, levels, J, π, difference between the first 2+ and 1+ states. Comparison with previous experimental results and theoretical calculations.
