Decay spectroscopy of 160Eu: Quasiparticle configurations of excited states and structure of Kπ = 4+ bandheads in 160Gd

RADIOACTIVITY 160,160mEu(β-)[from U(p, X), E=480 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ) βγγ-coin; deduced logft, β-feeding intensities. 160Eu; deduced J, π of the b-decaying isomeric states with preliminary J=1 and J=5 assignments, configurations. 160Gd; deduced levels, J, π, transition intensities, δ, B(M1), B(E2), T1/2 of the excited states populated in 160Eu decay, band configurations. Comparison to previous experimental results. GRIFFIN spectrometer consisting of 15 HPGe clover detectors and surrounded by 7 LaBr3(Ce) detectors for lifetime measurements at the TRIUMF-ISAC facility.

Decay spectroscopy of 50Sc and 50mSc to 50Ti

RADIOACTIVITY 50,50mSc(β-)[from 40Ca β- decay produced in Ta(p, X), E=500 MeV at TRIUMF-ISAC facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, γγ- and βγ-coin using GRIFFIN array of 15 HPGe clover detectors for γ detection, and SCEPTAR array of plastic scintillators for β detection. 50Ti; deduced levels, J, π, β- feedings, logft, B(GT). Comparison with shell model using KB3G and GXPF1A interactions, and ab-initio VS-IMSRG calculations for energy levels, B(E2) and nuclear quadrupole moments. Comparison with previous experimental results.

In-beam internal conversion electron spectroscopy with the SPICE detector

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 110Pd(α, X)109Pd/110Pd/111Ag, E=36 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, Iβ; deduced internal conversion electrons spectra and coefficients, energy levels, J, π. Comparison with BrICC calculations. The SPectrometer for Internal Conversion Electrons (SPICE), TIGRESS γ-ray spectrometer, TRIUMF-ISAC-II superconducting linear accelerator.

Spectroscopy of 50Sc and ab initio calculations of B(M3) strengths

RADIOACTIVITY 50Ca(β-)[from Ta(p, X), E=500 MeV at TRIUMF-ISAC facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ), level half-lives by γγ(t) using GRIFFIN array of clover HPGe detectors, LaBr3(Ce) scintillators for fast timing, and plastic scintillator array SCEPTAR for β particles. 50Sc; deduced levels, J, π, γ-ray branching ratios, B(M3), B(M1), B(E2), mixing ratio, single-particle-orbital occupation numbers. Comparison with theoretical transition strengths from standard operators and from wave functions produced with the KB3G-pf shell interaction and the valence-space in-medium similarity renormalization group (VS-IMSRG). Comparison of experimental and theoretical B(M3) for transitions in 24Na, 24Al, 34,38Cl, 38K and 50Sc, the theoretical values from ab initio calculations using the VS-IMSRG approach with consistently derived effective Hamiltonians and effective M3 operator.
