Clarifying the structure of low-lying states in 72Br

RADIOACTIVITY 72Kr(EC), (β+)[from Nb(p, X), E=1.4 GeV at ISOLDE-CERN, followed by high-resolution mass separation]; measured Eγ, Iγ, x rays, conversion electrons, conversion coefficients using HPGe detector for γ rays and a miniorange electron spectrometer for electrons. 72Br; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, multipole mixing ratios, configurations, no E0 transitions observed. 72Br(EC)[from 72Kr EC decay]; 72As(EC)[present as contaminant]; measured Eγ, Iγ, conversion electrons. 72Se, 72Ge; deduced Eγ and E0 transitions. Comparison of level structure in 72Br with theoretical calculations using the mean-field HF+BCS approach with SLy4 Skyrme-type interaction and large-scale shell-model using jun45.lnps interaction, and with previous experimental results.

DWBA analysis. Comparison with previous experimental and evaluated data, and with shell-model calculations using USDA, USDB and modified-PSDWBT interactions, and quasiparticle-random-phase approximation (QRPA) calculations.

DWBA analysis. Comparisons with shell-model calculations using GXPF1J interaction, and with B(GT) results from 47Ti(3He, t)47V reaction. Predictions for β spectrum of mirror decay 48Fe to 48Mn.

RADIOACTIVITY 213Fr(α), (EC), (β+)[from U(p, X), E=1.4 GeV pulsed beam at ISOLDE-CERN facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, (x ray)γ- and γγ-coin using HPGe detectors, conversion electrons, (ce)(x ray)-coin using a Mini-Orange magnetic spectrometer and a Si(Li) detector, half-life of 213Fr decay. 209At, 213Rn; deduced levels, J, π, α and ϵ+β+ feedings, α-hindrance factors and logft values. Comparison of level structure with shell-model calculations.

High-resolution study of Gamow-Teller excitations in the 42Ca (3He, t) 42Sc reaction and the observation of a "low-energy super-Gamow-Teller state"

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 42Ca(3He, t), E=140 MeV/nucleon; measured triton spectra, σ(θ) using Grand Raiden spectrometer at RCNP facility. 42Sc; deduced levels, J, π, IAS, isospin of excited GT states, L-transfers, B(GT), configurations. Comparison of B(GT) values with those for 44,48Sc, and from 42Ti β+ decay to 42Sc. Isospin assignments made in comparison with results from 42Ca(p, p') reaction. Comparison with shell-model calculations using GXPF1J interaction. 12N, 16F, 40,44Sc; observed peaks from contaminants in the target material, and appropriate corrections applied to triton spectra for 42Sc.

Discussed double isobaric analog state in 44Ca, and analog states in A=44 system of 44K, 44Ca, 44Sc, 44Ti, 44V, 44Cr nuclei.

RADIOACTIVITY 44Cr(β+), (β+p); deduced half-life of 44Cr, and β+ spectrum based on B(GT) from 44Ca(3He, t) reaction; compared β+ spectrum with measured delayed-proton spectrum.
