Quantifying resonance behavior in the fusion of 17O with 12C at above-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(17O, X)29Si, E=47, 47.5, 48, 55 MeV; measured reaction products, evaporation residues, charged particles; deduced fusion excitation functions, fusion σ(E). Comparison to other experimental data including fusion data on 17F+12C system. Systematics of the fusion σ for 16,17,18,19+12C systems. Gas filled (CH4) active target MuSIC@Indiana at the University of Notre Dame Nuclear Science Laboratory.

Quasielastic scattering of 7Be + natZr at sub- and near-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS Zr(7Be, X), E=20.6, 22.1, 23.7, 28.2 MeV; measured reaction product, charged particles, angular distributions; deduced quasielastic scattering σ(θ), total σ(E), optical model parameters. Optical model analysis. Comparison to phenomenological predictions and Continuum-Discretized Coupled-Channel (CDCC) calculations. Systematics of total fusion cross-sections for 7Li+59Co, 7Li+64Ni, 7Li+124Sn, 7Be+90Zr. Setup consisting of 4 silicon DSSD telescopes at Notre Dame FN tandem accelerator.

Dominance of direct reaction channels at deep sub-barrier energies for weakly bound nuclei on heavy targets: The case 8B + 208Pb

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(8B, 7Be), E=30 MeV, [secondary 8B beam from 3He(6Li, X)7Li/7Be/8B reaction using TwinSol facility at the University of Notre Dame FM tandem accelerator]; measured reaction products and elastically scattered particles, differential σ(θ) using Si telescopes, time-of-flight ΔE-E spectra; deduced direct to total reaction cross section, and compared with previous experimental σ ratios for 209Bi+6He, 58Ni+8B, and 28Si+7Be reactions, breakup cross section for the 208Pb+8B system at deep sub-barrier energies. Comparison with CDCC calculations, with Coulomb plus nuclear potentials, and Coulomb potentials only.

Spectroscopic study of 20Ne+p reactions using the JENSA gas-jet target to constrain the astrophysical 18F (p, α)15O rate

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 20Ne(p, d), (p, 3He), E=30 MeV; measured E(d), I(d), 3He spectrum, particle identification spectrum, σ(θ) using SIDAR silicon detector array, and JENSA natural Ne gas target at Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility (HRIBF). DWBA analysis using optical model parameters. 19Ne, 18F; deduced levels, and compared with previous experimental results. 18F(p, α)15O; deduced coefficients to parametrize the astrophysical reaction rates.
