NUCLEAR REACTIONS 24Mg(α, p)27Al*, E=4.0-5.4 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ) for γ rays emitted by resonances in 27Al using an array of 13 LaBr3 detectors from the Hybrid Array of Gamma Ray Detectors (HAGRiD) and enriched target at the ANA accelerator at the University of Notre Dame; deduced yields for resonances in 27Al, integrated angular yields for resonances in 27Al for (α, p1) and (α, p2) channels, astrophysical reaction rates from 1-10 GK. Relevance to energy production in type Ia x-ray bursts. The γ rays also seen from 24Mg(α, a°), 24Mg(α, n)20Ne, and 24Mg(α, γ)28Si.

Direct neutron capture cross section on 80Ge and probing shape coexistence in neutron-rich nuclei

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 2H(80Ge, p), (80Ge, d), E=310 MeV; measured energies and angles of light-ion ejectiles, Ep, Ip, E(d), I(d), (80Ge)p- and (80Ge)d-coin, angular distributions of ejected proton using various silicon detectors at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility at ORNL. Proton angular distributions analyzed using adiabatic wave approximation including finite range effects (ADWAFR) using FRESCO code, and by DWBA. 81Ge; deduced levels, J, π, spectroscopic factors, configurations, region of shape coexistence around N≈50. Systematics of low-lying levels in N=49 isotones 81Ge, 83Se, 85Kr and 87Sr. Discussed implications for the magic nature of 78Ni. 80Ge(n, γ), E=0.01-3 MeV; calculated σ(E) for r-process simulations using direct-semidirect (DSD) model and the CUPIDO code.

New γ-ray transitions observed in 19Ne with implications for the 15O(α, γ)19Ne reaction rate

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 19F(3He, t), E=30 MeV; measured triton spectra, Eγ, Iγ, tγ- and γγ-coin using Gammasphere array for γ detection with the silicon detector array ORRUBA Dual Detectors for Experimental Structure Studies (GODDESS) at ATLAS-ANL facility. 19Ne; deduced levels, J, π, and γ-branching ratios for the decay of 4.14- and 4.20-MeV states. 15O(α, γ)19Ne, E≈18-180 keV; calculated fractional contribution of the corrected branching ratios for the 4.14 MeV, 7/2- and 4.20 MeV, 9/2- states in 19Ne to astrophysical reaction rate, which is of significance in breakout from the hot CNO cycle in type I x-ray bursts. Comparison with previous experimental values.

Angular distribution data compared with Finite Range Adiabatic Wave Approximation. 124,126,128,130,132Sn(n, γ), E=30 keV; calculated direct-semidirect σ(n, γ) from spectroscopic information, and compared with various theoretical predictions. Relevance to r-process abundance calculations.

Comparison with FR-ADWA analysis with KD optical model parameters, and with previous experimental results at E=5.5 MeV/nucleon.
