From Highly to Superdeformed Shapes: Study of ¹⁴³Gd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁹⁷Mo(⁵¹V, 4np), E=238 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-, (charged particle)γ-coin, γ polarization. ¹⁴³Gd deduced high-spin levels, J, π, configurations, superdeformed bands. GASP, ISIS arrays. Cranked shell model calculations.
