First Evidence of Axial Shape Asymmetry and Configuration Coexistence in 74Zn: Suggestion for a Northern Extension of the N=40 Island of Inversion

RADIOACTIVITY 74Cu(β-) [from Ta(p, X)74Cu, E=490 MeV]; measured decay products, Eγ, Iγ; deduced γ-ray energies and relative intensities, energy levels, J, π, relative B(E2), ground state enhanced axial shape asymmetry (triaxiality). Comparison with available data, with shell-model calculations (SM) and shell-model calculations in a deformed Hartree-Fock basis (DNO-SM). The GRIFFIN γ-ray spectrometer, TRIUMF-ISAC1 facility.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(83Rb, γ)84Sr, E=2.4, 2.7 MeV/nucleon; 1H(84Kr, γ)85Rb, E=2.7 MeV/nucleon; measured Eγ, Iγ, (recoil)γ-coin; deduced σ(E). 1H(83Rb, γ)84Sr, E=2.4, 2.7 MeV/nucleon; deduced thermonuclear reaction rate. Comparison to SMARAGD and NON-SMOKER calculations. Relevance to the abundance of 84Sr produced during the γ process in supernovae. The EMMA recoil mass spectrometer with 12 Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors of the TIGRESS array at ISAC-II facility of TRIUMF.

Decay spectroscopy of 160Eu: Quasiparticle configurations of excited states and structure of Kπ = 4+ bandheads in 160Gd

RADIOACTIVITY 160,160mEu(β-)[from U(p, X), E=480 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ) βγγ-coin; deduced logft, β-feeding intensities. 160Eu; deduced J, π of the b-decaying isomeric states with preliminary J=1 and J=5 assignments, configurations. 160Gd; deduced levels, J, π, transition intensities, δ, B(M1), B(E2), T1/2 of the excited states populated in 160Eu decay, band configurations. Comparison to previous experimental results. GRIFFIN spectrometer consisting of 15 HPGe clover detectors and surrounded by 7 LaBr3(Ce) detectors for lifetime measurements at the TRIUMF-ISAC facility.

High-precision branching ratio measurement and spin assignment implications for 62Ga superallowed β decay

RADIOACTIVITY 62Ga(β+), (EC); measured Eγ, Iγ, β+, β+γ- and βγγ-coin, γγ(θ) using GRIFFIN array of 16 Compton-suppressed HPGe clover detectors for γ rays, and SCEPTAR array of plastic scintillators for β particles at TRIUMF-ISAC facility. 62Zn; deduced levels, J, π, multipole mixing ratios, precise β branch for superallowed 0+ to 0+ transition, β feedings to excited 0+ and (1+) states, isospin-symmetry-breaking correction. Comparison with previous experimental results and implications for theoretical studies of isospin-symmetry-breaking correction calculations.
