RADIOACTIVITY 142La, 142Ba, 142Cs(β-)[from 238U(p, F), E=40 MeV]; measured Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, Iβ, γβ-coin, total absorption spectra; deduced T1/2, average gamma energy per decay, β-feeding intensities, decay patterns, σ for the detection of reactor antineutrinos. 142Cs(β-n); deduced β-delayed neutron branching ratio. Comparison with other experimental values and ENSDF evaluation. Modular Total Absorption Spectrometer (MTAS) array of 19 NaI(Tl) coupled with auxiliary Si-strip detectors at the mass separator and Tandem accelerator at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

RADIOACTIVITY 162,164Eu(β-)[from 238U(p, F), E=50 MeV at the at the HRIB facility of ORNL]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ- and βγ-coin, half-lives of 162Eu g.s. and isomer and 164Eu g.s. decays, half-lives of isomers in 162,164Gd by γ(t). 162,164Eu; deduced J, π for the ground states, and the isomer in 162Eu. 162,164Gd; deduced levels, J, π, isomers, total conversion coefficients, β feedings and logft for 164Eu to 164Gd decay, configurations, β and γ rotational bands. Comparison with projected shell model calculations, and with systematics of K isomer hindrance factors in neighboring nuclei.

Constrained triaxial covariant density-functional theory (CDFT) and quantal particle rotor model (PRM) calculations. Comparison with experimental data.

Anomalous neutron yields confirmed for Ba-Mo and newly observed for Ce-Zr from spontaneous fission of 252Cf

RADIOACTIVITY 252Cf(SF); measured Eγ, Iγ, three- and four-fold γγ-coin using the Gammasphere array at LBNL; deduced fission yield matrices and neutron multiplicity yields of Ba(A=138-148)-Mo(A=100-110), Pd(A=110-118)-Te(A=130-138), Nd(A=148-156)-Sr(A=91-100), and Ce(A=144-152)-Zr(A=96-104) pairs of isotopes using up-to-date level schemes of relevant nuclei, and cross-checking of energies of the γ-transitions in multiple isotopes, possible hyperdeformation and octupole deformation at scission giving rise to high neutron multiplicities.
