Inclusive production of charged pion pairs in proton-antiproton collisions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(p-bar, π+π-X), E transverse momentum of 1-7 GeV/c; calculated higher-twist (HT) and lower-twist (LT) contributions to pion pair production σ(E), ratios σ(HT)/σ(LT), and sum of HT+LT contributions using the frozen coupling constant approach with various pion distribution amplitudes. Relevance to theoretical interpretations of the future PANDA experimental data.

Antiproton-proton annihilation into light neutral meson pairs within an effective meson theory

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(p-bar, π0π0), (p-bar, ηη), (p-bar, π0η), E(cm)=2.911-3.686 GeV; calculated angular distributions, and integrated cross sections. Comparison with experimental data from Fermilab E760 Collaboration. Calculations based on model built on the effective meson Lagrangian for two neutral pion production in proton-antiproton annihilation. Relevance to future work at the antiproton Annihilation at Darmstadt (PANDA) experiment at the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR).
