Lifetime measurement of the first excited 2⁺ state in ¹⁰⁸Te

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁵⁴Fe(⁵⁸Ni, 2n2p), E=245 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, recoil-distance Doppler shift. ¹⁰⁸Te; deduced levels, J, π, half-life of first 2+ state, B(E2). Recoil decay tagging (RDT) technique in combination with distance Doppler shift using the Cologne differential plunger and JUROGAM II array. Systematics of B(E2) values for even-A Te nuclei from N=52-80. Comparison with shell model calculations.
