Electric and magnetic dipole strength in 112, 114, 116, 118, 120, 124Sn

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 112,114,116,118,120,124Sn(p, p'), E=295 MeV; measured E(p), I(p), particle spectra through identification via the correlation of energy loss and time of flight (ToF), double differential σ(θ, E(exc)) using Grand Raiden spectrometer at RCNP accelerator facility; deduced photoabsorption cross sections due to E1 and M1 excitations from multipole decomposition analysis (MDA) after subtraction of the ISGMR and ISGQR contributions, σ, energy and width of isovector giant dipole resonance (IVGDR), B(E1) and B(M1) strengths in the excitation energy range of 6-20 MeV, dipole polarizability. Comparison with previous experimental results from (γ, xn) and (γ, γ') experiments.

Measurement of γ rays from giant resonances excited by the 12C(p, p') reaction at 392 MeV and 0 degrees

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(p, p')12C, E=392 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, Ep, Ip, pγ-coin, σ(θ) from 0-3.5° using magnetic spectrometer Grand Raiden and NaI(Tl) detectors at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP), Osaka University, Japan; deduced differential cross section, γ-ray emission probability; cross section decomposed into spin-flip and non-spin-flip components. Angular distributions compared with DWBA calculations. 12C; deduced levels, resonances in the 16-32 MeV range, J, π, widths, σ, γ-ray spectra from giant resonances in 12C. 11B, 11C; deduced levels, J, π, γ-ray energies and emission probabilities in daughter nuclei 11B and 11C populated from the decay of 12C resonances. Comparison of the measured γ-ray emission probabilities with statistical model calculation based on the Hauser-Feshbach formalism.

Systematic analysis of inelastic α scattering off self-conjugate A=4n nuclei

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C, 16O, 20Ne, 24Mg, 28Si, 40Ca(α, α), (α, α'), E=130, 386 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, elastic and inelastic σ(θ, E) using Grand Raiden (GR) magnetic spectrometer with two multiwire drift chambers and two plastic scintillation counters at the AVF cyclotron of Research Center of Nuclear Physics (RCNP), Osaka University. 12C, 16O, 20Ne, 24Mg, 28Si, 40Ca; deduced levels, J, π, L transfers, EWSR strengths of the isoscalar dipole transitions. DWBA and coupled-channel (CC) analysis of σ(θ) distributions with the density-independent (DI) and density-dependent (DD) α-nucleus interactions.
