Discussed uncertainties arising from global nuclear models for a wide range of relevant nuclei. Relevance to discrepancies between the observed abundances of p-nuclei in the solar system and those predicted by different astrophysical models of the p-process.

Hauser-Feshbach calculations using the TALYS nuclear reaction code. 47,48,49Ti, 51V, 59Co, 77Se, 98Ru, 120,122Sn, 125,126Te, 130Ba, 142Nd, 144Sm, 197Au(p, γ); 58Fe, 67Zn, 69Ga, 87Rb, 94,96Zr, 100Mo, 128Te, 139La, 142Ce, 153Eu, 196Pt, 197Au(p, n); recommended reactions for measurement of cross sections at low energies, where available experimental data found to be either problematic or non-existent. Relevance to astrophysical models studying the origin of the neutron-deficient nuclides by rp and p processes.
