Open shell effects in a microscopic optical potential for elastic scattering of ⁶⁽⁸⁾He

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^6,8He(p, p), E=71, 100, 200 MeV/nucleon; calculated differential σ(θ, E) and analyzing power A_y(θ, E) as function of momentum transfer, and with variation of matter and charge radii. Optical potential model with single-particle density matrix for ^6,8He from simple harmonic oscillator. Comparison with experimental data.
