Possible experimental signature of octupole correlations in the 0+2 states of the actinides

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 242Pu(p, t), E=24 MeV; measured triton spectra, σ(θ) using Q3D spectrograph at MLL-Munich facility. 240Pu; deduced levels, J, π, L-transfer, transition strengths for 0+ excited states. DWBA analysis of σ(θ) data. Comparison with summed relative (p, t) strengths and B(E1)/B(E2) ratios with other actinide nuclei and with spdf interacting boson model calculations. Possible double-octupole structure of first excited 0+ states in actinides. Systematics of energies of first 3- and second 0+ states in N=132-148, Ra, Th, U and Pu nuclei.
