Excited Structure with a Very Extended Shape in ¹⁰⁸Cd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁶⁴Ni(⁴⁸Ca, 4n), E=207 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, fractional Doppler shifts. ¹⁰⁸Cd deduced high-spin levels, J, π, rotational band quadrupole moment, extreme deformation. Gammasphere array.

Very Extended Shapes in the A ∼ 110 Region

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ⁶⁴Ni(⁴⁸Ca, 4n), E=207 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. ¹⁰⁸Cd deduced superdeformed band transitions, quadrupole moments, deformation. Gammasphere array.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE ³⁶Ar, ⁶⁰Zn, ⁸²Sr, ⁹¹Tc, ¹⁰⁸Cd, ¹³²Ce, ¹⁵²Dy, ¹⁹²Hg, ²³⁶U; A=20-250; compiled, analyzed ground-state and superdeformed bands quadrupole moments.
