Measurement of the transverse asymmetry of γ rays in the ¹¹⁷Sn(n, γ)¹¹⁸Sn reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹¹⁷Sn(polarized n, γ), E=epithermal; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), E(n), I(n), polarization of neutron beam, neutron TOF spectrum; deduced transverse asymmetry for 1.3-eV resonance, angular dependence of asymmetric γ-ray yields for the orientation of the neutron polarization. Neutron spin filter based on ³He. Lithium glass scintillators for neutron detection and Ge detectors for γ-detection at the Material and Life Science Experiment Facility (MLF) of the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex (J-PARK).
