Determination of the ²⁰⁹Bi(n, γ) cross section using the NICE detector

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²⁰⁹Bi(n, γ), E=thermal (25 milli-eV) and kT=30 keV; measured charged particles and γ rays using the Neutron Induced Charge-particle Emission NICE detector of plastic scintillator, coupled to two photomultiplier tubes (PMT) at the TRIGA-Mark II reactor of Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz; deduced partial capture σ(E), resonance integral, and the Maxwellian average cross section at stellar energy of KT=30 keV. ²⁰⁹Bi(n, γ), kT=5-100 keV; calculated total capture cross-sections using the ENDF data libraries; deduced Maxwellian average cross section. Discussed potential of the new detection technique using NICE detector system.
