Neutron activation of 69Ga and 71Ga at kBT ≈ 25 keV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 69,71Ga(n, γ), E<110 keV, centered at 25 keV, [neutrons from 7Li(p, n), E=1512 keV at the 7 MV Van de Graaff accelerator of EC-JRC, Geel]; measured Eγ, Iγ, natural Ga target, cross sections by activation method; deduced simulated neutron energy distribution, spectrum-averaged σ(E), and σ(E) relative to σ(E) for 197Au. Comparison with results in evaluated in KADoNiS v0.3 and ENDF/B-VII.1 libraries. Relevance to production of gallium in the weak s process in massive stars.

63Cu (n, γ) cross section measured via 25 keV activation and time of flight

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 63Cu(n, γ), E=75 eV to 500 keV; measured Eγ, Iγ, time of flight, σ(E) by activation with a quasistellar neutron spectrum at JRC-Geel, and the energy dependence of the cross section measured with an isotopically enriched 63Cu sample placed in the center of the DANCE detector array at LANSCE-LANL facility; deduced Maxwellian-averaged cross sections for the whole temperature range relevant for different scenarios of the s-process nucleosynthesis. Comparison with previous experimental measurements and with evaluated cross sections from TENDL-2015.

Thermal neutron capture cross section of the radioactive isotope 60Fe

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 60Fe(n, γ), E=thermal and epithermal; measured Eγ, Iγ, capture σ, resonance integral at Mainz TRIGA research reactor facility; deduced Maxwellian averaged cross section for kT=0.005 eV to 1 MeV, negligible s-wave part of the direct capture in the astrophysical regime of kT=10-100 keV.
