The decay pattern of the Pygmy Dipole Resonance of ¹⁴⁰Ce

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹⁴⁰Ce(γ, γ'), (γ, γ), E=6.5 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ; deduced elastic scattering σ, average branching ratio to excited states for ¹⁴⁰Ce, Pygmy Dipole Resonance (PDR) couple to the ground state as well as to low-lying excited states, PDR mixing. Comparison with nuclear model calculations.
