Giant dipole resonance studies in Ba isotopes at E/A ≈ 5 MeV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹¹²Sn(¹²C, X)¹²⁴Ba*, E=64 MeV; ¹²⁴Sn(¹²C, X)¹³⁶Ba*, E=52 MeV/nucleon; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, multiplicity, giant dipole resonance (GDR) strength functions at TIFR-Mumbai Pelletron Linac Facility. ^124,136Ba; deduced GDR parameters of centroids, widths and nuclear deformation parameter β using simulated Monte Carlo statistical model analysis; calculated the free energy surfaces (FESs) at different temperatures and angular momenta. Comparison with thermal shape fluctuation model (TSFM) calculations.
