One-neutron transfer, complete fusion, and incomplete fusion from the 9Be + 197Au reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(9Be, 9Be), (9Be, 9Be'), (9Be, 8Be)198Au, (9Be, 10Be)196Au, (9Be, X)199Tl/200Tl/201Bi/202Bi/203Bi, E=22-50.5 MeV from the 20 UD tandem accelerator of TANDAR Laboratory in Buenos Aires; measured off-line Eγ, Iγ from an activated target; deduced σ(E) for elastic and inelastic scattering, σ(E) for one-neutron stripping and pickup and elastic breakup, complete-fusion (CF) and incomplete fusion (ICF). Comparison with Universal Fusion Function (UFF) method, and with continuum discretized coupled-channel (CDCC) calculations, with Sao Paulo Potential (SPP) systematics.

RADIOACTIVITY 196,198Au(β-), 196Au, 199,200Tl, 201,202Bi, 203Bi(EC), (β+)[from 197Au(9Be, X), E=22-50.5 MeV]; measured γ radiation, T1/2 of decays from γ-decay curves.

Investigation of the fusion process for 10B + 197Au at near-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(10B, 9B)198Au, (10B, 11B)196Au, (10B, 3n)204Po, (10B, 4n)203Po, (10B, 5n)202Po, (10B, 2np)204Bi, (10B, 3np)203Bi, (10B, 4np)202Bi, (10B, 2nα)201Pb, (10B, 3nα)200Pb, (10B, 4nα)199Pb, (6Li, 4n), E=38-61 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, fusion σ(E) by offline detection of γ rays from products after complete and incomplete fusion at the 20 UD TANDAR Accelerator facility. Comparison with coupled reaction channel (CRC) calculations using the Sao Paulo potential. 197Au(α, X), (8He, X), (6Li, X), (7Li, X), (11B, X), (12C, X), (16O, X), (40Ar, X), (40Ca, X), (48Ca, X), E(reduced)=-2 to +4; analyzed previous fusion σ(E) data with the present data for 197Au(10B, X); deduced universal fusion function.

Investigation of the reaction mechanisms for 10B + 197Au at near-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(10B, 10B), (10B, 10B'), (10B, 11B), (10B, 9Be), E=38-61 MeV; measured reaction products, beam-like recoils, and σ(E, θ) using E-ΔE silicon surface barrier telescopes at the 8-MV Pelletron accelerator of the University of Sao Paulo, and at the 20-MV tandem accelerator TANDAR; deduced total integrated cross sections. 10B, 197Au; deduced levels, J, π, yields. Comparison with coupled reaction channel (CRC) calculations, with double-folding Sao Paulo potential. Discussed breakup process of 10B.
