First observation of high-spin states in the N=83 nucleus ¹⁴²Pr

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹³⁸Ba(⁷Li, 3n), E = 38 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ; deduced level energies, J, π, asymmetric angular distribution from oriented states (ADO). Comparison with systematics, shell model calculations.
