C 104, 014612 (2021) Response of undoped cryogenic CsI to low-energy nuclear recoils NUCLEAR REACTIONS Cs, I(n, n), E=2.25 MeV monochromatic neutrons from a 2H-2H generator; measured scattered neutrons from a CsI crystal by a Bicron 501A liquid scintillator cell, with CsI scintillator coupled to a cryogenic photomultiplier (PMT) at 108-165K, and light (photon) yields for electron recoils (ERs) and nuclear recoils (NRs); deduced quenching factor for low-energy nuclear recoils in undoped cryogenic CsI crystal. Relevance to detection of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs), and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEνNS) events.
