Properties of the new α-decaying isotope 190At

RADIOACTIVITY 190At(α)[from 109Ag(84Sr, 3n), E=380, 390 MeV, followed by the separation of reaction products using the gas-filled recoil separator RITU at the K-130 cyclotron of the University of Jyvaskyla]; measured fusion-evaporation residues, (implants)α-correlated events, Eα, T1/2 of 190At decay, protons using the GREAT spectrometer with multiwire proportional counter (MWPC) and double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSD). 190At; deduced new isotope, Jπ for the ground state, Q(α), mass excess, Q(p), reduced decay width and α-decay hindrance factor using Rasmussen method, no evidence for the observation of protons; discussed logistics of proton emission from the decay of 190At. Systematics of experimental ground-state α-decay energies Q(α) of 105,106,107,108,109,110,111,112,113,114,115,116,117,118,119,120,121,122,123,124At, and compared with predictions from various mass models.
