Correlated mass, energy, and angular distributions from bremsstrahlung-induced fission of ²³⁴U and ²³²Th in the energy region of the fission barrier

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²³⁴U(γ, F), E_end-point=9.0, 7.5, 6.4 MeV bremsstrahlung; ²³²Th(γ, F), E_end-point=9.5, 8.0 MeV bremsstrahlung; ²³⁸U(γ, F), E_end-point=8.5 MeV bremsstrahlung; measured fission-fragments, fission yields, fission-fragment angular distributions using twin Frisch-grid ionization chamber (FGIC) at the superconducting Darmstadt linear accelerator (S-DALINAC) facility; deduced fission-fragment mass yield and TKE distributions. Discussed possible interpretation of observed correlations in terms of fission modes.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ^234,238U(γ, F), E=5-9 MeV bremsstrahlung; measured fission fragment energy spectra, mass distributions and yields using twin Frisch grid ionization chamber; deduced fission reaction mechanism features. Comparison with other data and multi-modal random-neck rupture model.
