First Observation of Cyclotron Radiation from MeV-Scale e± following Nuclear β Decay

RADIOACTIVITY 6He(β-), 19Ne(β+) [7Li(d, 3He), E=17.8 MeV; 19F(p, n), E=12 MeV]; measured decay products, Eβ, Iβ; deduced β spectra, first direct observation of cyclotron radiation from individual highly relativistic β in a waveguide. The cyclotron radiation emission spectroscopy (CRES) technique, FN-tandem accelerator at the University of Washington.

Level structure above the 17+ isomeric state in 15269Tm83

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 92Mo(64Zn, n3p), E=280 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, recoil time of flight and total kinetic energy loss (TKEL), γγ-coin, delayed γ, and half-life of the 17+ isomer using JUROGAM array for γ detection, RITU separator for recoil separation, and Gamma-Recoil-Electron-Alpha-Tagging (GREAT) spectrometer at JYFL, Jyvaskyla. 152Tm; deduced levels, J, π, configurations; calculated levels, J, π and B(E2) values of transitions in the yrast sequence 9+ to 21+ using both large scale shell model and reduced shell model with different proton-neutron interactions.
