Estimate of the theoretical uncertainty of the cross sections for nucleon knockout in neutral-current neutrino-oxygen interactions

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 16O(ν, ν')n, (ν, ν')p, (ν-bar, ν'-bar)n, (ν-bar, ν'-bar)p, E<2.0 GeV; calculated σ(E) for neutron and proton knockouts induced by neutral-current (NC) quasielastic (QE) scattering of atmospheric neutrinos and antineutrinos using relativistic plane-wave impulse approximation (RPWIA), relativistic mean-field (RMF), relativistic Green's function (RGF), and superscaling (SuSA) approaches and comparison with realistic nuclear spectral functions (SF). Relevance to ongoing and future experiments at the Super- and Hyper-Kamiokande including searches of diffuse supernova neutrinos (DSN) and sterile neutrinos in the beam of T2K experiment.
