Cross-section measurements of ²H(n, np)n in symmetric star configurations

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ²H(n, np), E=16, 19 MeV; measured particle spectra, time-of-flight, np-coin, σ in space-star (SST) and coplanar star (CST) neutron-deuteron breakup configurations. Comparison with Monte Carlo simulations based on rigorous three-nucleon Faddeev calculations. Discussed discrepancies between data and theory; deficiencies in theoretical treatment of three-nucleon forces or in knowledge of the neutron-neutron ¹S₀ force.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ³He(polarized p, p), E=2-6 MeV; measured Ep, Ip, analyzing powers; deduced phase shifts, spin-correlation coefficients using polarized ³He target. Comparison with theoretical calculations using realistic nucleon-nucleon potential models.
