Reliability of the double-folding potential for fusion cross sections of light systems

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C, 16O, 24Mg, 28Si(12C, X), 16O(16O, X), 24Mg, 28Si(24Mg, X), 28Si(28Si, X), E not given; calculated barrier height, position, and fusion barrier energies using Akyuz-Winther (A-W), M3Y double-folding (DFM), and α-α double-folding cluster (DFC) potentials. 12C(12C, X), E=2-8 MeV; 16O(16O, X), E=6-15 MeV; 12C(16O, X), E=3-13 MeV; calculated σ(E) and modified astrophysical S(E) factor using A-W, DFM and DFC potentials, thermonuclear reaction rates for T9=0.5-3.0. Comparison with experimental data.
