General Comments:

1992Sc16: 172Ir from 141Pr(36Ar,5n), E(36Ar)=234 MeV primary beam, helium-jet transport; monoisotopic targets; measured Eα, Iα, Eγ, Iγ, αγ coin, (α)(K x ray) coin.

2004GoZZ: 172Ir from α-decay of 176Au produced in 84Sr bombardment of Mo; fragment mass analyzer and double-sided Si strip detector (for recoils and decay α particles), recoil decay tagging technique. Measured Eα, Iα, recoil-α-γ coin, α(t), parent-daughter α correlations.

2014An10: measured α branching ratio from high-spin isomer of 172Ir

Q-value: S(2n)=20160 90 (syst), S(2p)=3040 40, Q(εp)=6580 40 (2012Wa38)

  0+X(3-,4-) 4.4 s 3
% ε ≈ 98
% α ≈ 2
Other %α<2 (2004GoZZ), also a low value is consistent with the measurements in 2014An10, but a precise branching ratio could not be extracted by 2014An10 due to detection sensitivity limit.
  0+Y(7+) 2.19 s 7
% ε = 90.5 11
% α = 9.5 11
%α measured by 2014An10 by two methods: αγ-coin and αα-correlations, first giving a value of 10% 2 and the other 9% 1. Other measured values of %α: 23 3 (1992Sc16), 22 6 (2004GoZZ), <32 (1984ScZQ).
