Losses and depolarization of ultracold neutrons on neutron guide and storage materials

RADIOACTIVITY 1n(β-); measured wall losses, depolarization probabilities, storage time constants of ultracold neutrons (UCN) on various materials: nickel-molybdenum alloys, natural nickel, nickel-vanadium, copper, and deuterated polystyrene (dPS) at the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) and Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI); deduced optimal conditions for the transport of polarized and unpolarized UCN. Comparison with literature values.
