Production of 229Th for medical applications: Excitation functions of low-energy protons on 232Th targets

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 232Th(p, n), (p, 3n), (p, 4n), (p, 5n)228Pa/229Pa/230Pa/232Pa, E=13-39.9 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, σ(E) by activation method, and effective σ(E) for 229Th production using natural Th targets at HRIBF-ORNL facility. 229Pa(α), (EC); measured T1/2, branching ratio for α and EC decay modes. Comparison with previous experimental values and theoretical predictions using PHITS and MCNP6 simulation codes.
