Neutron-neutron correlations in the photofission of 238U

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 238U(γ, F), E=2-10.5 MeV bremsstrahlung beam; measured E(n), I(n), neutron time-of-flight, (neutron)(neutron)-coin, (neutron)(neutron)(θ) using polyvinyl toluene scintillation detectors at the Idaho Accelerator Center; deduced back-to-back nature of the fission fragments, and anomalous decline in n-n yield for opening angles near 180 degrees. 252Cf; measured time-of-flight spectrum from the SF decay of 252Cf; simulation of correlated 252Cf neutrons using MCNP-PoLiMi code. Comparison with FREYA model calculations. Relevance to experimental input for photofission models used in codes such as Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) and the Fission Reaction Event Yield Algorithm (FREYA).

Neutron-proton equilibration in 35 MeV/υ collisions of 64, 70Zn + 64, 70Zn and 64Zn, 64Ni + 64Zn, 64Ni quantified using triplicate probes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 64,70Zn(70Zn, X), (64Zn, X), 64Zn, 64Ni(64Zn, X), (64Ni, X), E=35 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, isobaric yield ratios, isospin transport ratios of quasiparticle fragments using 4π NIMROD array for fragment detection at K150 cyclotron facility of Texas A and M University; deduced fractional neutron-proton equilibration width, quasiprojectile asymmetry, isoscaling parameter. Comparison with previous experimental data.

Precision half-life measurement of the β+ decay of 37K

RADIOACTIVITY 37K(β+)[from 1H(38Ar, 2n), E=29 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation using MARS apparatus at Texas A-M cyclotron facility]; measured Eβ, Iβ, precise half-life of 37K ground state using a 4π continuous-gas-flow proportional counter and a fast tape-transport system; deduced improved logft value, and Vud parameter. Comparison with previous experimental studies.
