Spherical optical model (SOM) analysis of experimental data using the GENOA computer code. Comparison with Koning and Delaroche local optical-model parameters, and with ENDF/B-VII.0 parameters. Relevance to neutron background contributions in direct dark matter searches. Accurate data for benchmarking global optical models. Improved cross-section libraries for the GEANT4 simulation code.

GEANIE array at LANSCE facility. Comparison with calculations using TALYS and CoH3 reaction codes. Relevance to identification of potential backgrounds in neutrinoless double-β decay, dark matter and WIMP experiments.
