β-delayed γ decay of 26P: Possible evidence of a proton halo

RADIOACTIVITY 26P, 24Al(β+), (EC)[from 9Be(36Ar, X), E=150 MeV/nucleon using A1900 fragment separator and the Radio-Frequency Fragment Separator (RFFS) at NSCL-MSU]; measured Eγ, Iγ, 26P ions, Eβ, Iβ, γγ-, βγγ-coin using GeDSSD detector for ions and β particles and SeGA array for γ rays. 26Si; deduced levels, J, π, Iβ feedings, B(GT) strengths, logft, mirror asymmetry, proton halo. Comparisons with β decay of 26Na mirror nucleus, previous experimental data for 26Si levels, and USDB shell-model calculations. 24Mg; observed γ rays. 25Al(p, γ)26Si, T9=0.01-0.5; calculated astrophysical reaction rates.
